Diet Habits App: Motivations

"Motivation is what gets you started. Habit is what keeps you going.": Jim Ryun

Obesity Kills.

If you remain obese, or significantly overweight, you are very likely to die much earlier, many years earlier, than you would otherwise do.

You will not be there in the lives of children or grandchildren or great grandchildren, when you might otherwise have been.
You’ll be healthier, for longer.

You’ll be able to move around much easier and with less effort.
Your knees and elbows and your joints in general won’t wear out as quick. Health problems such as osteoarthritis and arthritis can be quite debilitating and seriously impact upon the quality of your life.

Less weight also means less problems with your feet and foot pain and likelihood of problems with your feet.
You’ll generally be able to breathe much better.

Fat in your airway narrows the space available for inhaling. Fat in your upper body puts weight on your lungs and reduces the space available to them. You’ll need more oxygen but find it more difficult to get it.
You’ll be less likely to get diabetes or suffer certain other particular health problems associated with obesity, including:
• gum infections,
• nose and sinus infections,
• asthma and allergies,
• stomach infections.

Losing weight can lead to a reversal of type 2 diabetes.
You’ll be more likely to survive illnesses and surgery.

In recent times obesity was a significant factor in how severely individuals suffered from catching Covid.
You’ll be less likely to give off disagreeable body odors.
Enjoy Life
You’ll enjoy life more.

A general sense of well being can be significantly affected by being overweight. Significantly overweight people are more likely to suffer from depression.
You’ll feel more comfortable in yourself and likely to feel more self-confident and less self-critical.
You’ll look much better, including general body shape and also skin complexion.

A poor diet generally has a significantly affect on the skin.

You’ll be more likely to enjoy shopping for clothes.
You’ll likely be more alert, and your brain will work better.
You’ll be far less likely to snore, and also less likely to suffer from Sleep apnea, whereby you stop breathing whilst sleeping and which can significantly reduce the quality of sleep in general.
